Nuuk offers very different options when it comes to accommodation, so the choice depends on what kind of experience you are looking for. Either you can stay in Nuuk or in the fjord.
In Nuuk there is selection of accommodation ranging from a 4 star hotel to huts, bed&breakfasts, hotel apartments, hostels and AirBnB.
In the fjord there are off course camping but also more comfy choices like huts and luxury camps.
How to get here
Now that you have heard about all the great things Nuuk has to offer, you might be wondering: How do I get there? Well, unless you want to paddle in a kayak for weeks like the Inuits - you need to fly.
- To fly through Copenhagen Airport in Denmark with a change of plane in Kangerlussuaq Airport in Greenland. The flight from Copenhagen to Nuuk is about 5,5 hours of actual flying time plus plane check-inn, boarding and plane changes.
- You can fly directly to Nuuk from Keflavik Airport and Reykjavik Airport in Iceland. Flying time is about 3 hours.
Note that Nuuk still has a very small landing strip - so you will enjoy the final trip to Nuuk in a propeller plane that flys low, so you can enjoy the scenery.
In Nuuk, you’ll find a well-connected network of roads with bus connections to all districts - with three regular bus services from early morning to late evening. With several companies in the city, there are also good opportunities to catch a taxi.
If you prefer to use two wheels or to walk, there are combined cycling and walking paths. There are even marked trails for snowmobiles.
At sea, there is the opportunity to use one of many boat charters, as well as the coastal ferry Arctic Umiaq Line. The ferry ports at Nuuk two times a week, and it takes passengers to either North or South Greenland.

Besides exploring the nature surrounding Nuuk, there are many opportunities to stay active during your stay.You can test your golf skills at the short, but challenging 9-hole golf course situated in beautiful surroundings.

Are you the running type? Then do not cheat yourself of mesmerizing runs on some of Nuuk’s challenging roads and paths - like the Nuuk Marathon or annual Brugseni run. You can also test yourself in one of the many off-road runs in the backcountry.
